I observed a single, hatch-year Little Blue Heron at Crain's Run Park,
Miami Twp., in extreme SW Montgomery County this afternoon 1:45 - 2:45
p.m. The bird was feeding on crayfish on the far bank of the Miami River.
At times, it was directly across from the parking lot, but occasionally
ranged to about 1/4 mile north.
Photos were taken with my iPhone through my scope, since my decent camera's
batteries were dead:

Crain's Run is a small riparian park (35 acres or so) operated by the
Township and is located on Cincinnati-Dayton Pike between Miamisburg in
Montgomery County and Franklin in Warren County.
Other birds seen: Great Blue and Green Herons, Spotted and Solitary
Sandpipers, Killdeer, Ring-billed Gull, American Black Duck, Wood Duck
(females only), Cedar Waxwing (flock of 12 or so), N. Rough-winged Swallow
(perhaps 70 perching in a sycamore between sorties over the river).
Bird well,
Paul Dubuc,
Dayton, OH
