Comments: Brief stop for red-breasted nuthatches. Lots of activity in sections 52 and 53. Adjacent section 65 had one of the flocks of fly-over pine siskins (calling in flight). Overcast, temps in 60's F, wind calm to slight breeze.

Red-breasted Nuthatch 6 Very active and vocal. There may have been more than six birds in these two sections.

Cedar Waxwing 50 50+ (flocks of 11, 20 and 20)

Pine Siskin 100 First flock of 30+ flying over section 53 and landing somewhere in section 65 before taking off again. Another flock of 60+ seen converging in treetops in back part of section 53. A small flock of about a dozen observed feeding on hemlock at close range in section 53. All flyovers were calling in flight.
