Have a single Blue winged Teal on the pond next to my driveway. The teal has
been present since Thursday afternoon. The pond rarely freezes over. Folks are
welcome to come (monthly listers)if you need a mid winter BWTE.
Directions: From Stow high school on Graham rd. Take Newcomer road north to
Johnson road east , this stretch can harbor kestrel, shrike, merlin (not this
year so far). Check Fishcreek both ways as you cross for waterfowl. Continue
east past horse farm , look for the white fence on right, turn between the
pines, pond is behind the house on the right. This is the third driveway
before(west of) the railroad tracks on the south side.
There is only a single lane plowed right now so please be aware of my
neighbors coming and going. Birds are only spooky if people leave the car(so
don't :)). There has also been shovellers and mallards and ringnecks, black
ducks, pied billed grebe recently. This is only a 3/4 acre pond but it attracts
good birds yearly.
Feel free to contact me if questions.
The neighbor's Weimaraner has a mean bark but that's all.
Greg
