Another good day for shorebirds at the Wilderness Rd peat ponds in Wayne
Co.
I was there from 8:30-10:30am this morning, along with 7-8 other birders,
and saw the following species:
Am. Golden Plover - 4
Killdeer - many, many
Semipalmated plover 5
Lesser yellowlegs - 15+
Spotted sandpiper - 1
Hudsonian godwit - 4
Ruddy turnstone - 1
Semipalmated sandpiper - 3
Least sandpiper - 4
White-rumped sandpiper - 2
Pectoral sandpiper - 25+
Stilt sandpiper - 5
Short-billed dowitcher - 4
Wilson's snipe - 2
There was a buff-breasted sandpiper identified while I was there, but
unfortunately I missed it. Randy Rowe, Wooster
