I had to drive to Lisbon today and had a couple good sightings. First as I was northbound on I71 just south of mile marker 150 I saw a Bald Eagle soaring over the interstate. The drive across Rt. 30 was up eventful but at Guileford State Park I saw 5 Hooded a Mergansers (3m and 2 F)trying to stay afloat in a very choppy lake. I also saw a Red Tail Hawk get chased from its perch by a truly glorious Red a Shouldered hawk. As it sat in the sun It's rust colored breast was made redder by the sunlight. On the way home I saw a Cooper's hawk 10 miles from home perched on a power line. I didn't plan on birding today but it did turn out to be a pretty decent day!
