Team Geauga was birding Swine Creek yesterday and we came upon a Kingbird
nest with 4 babies. We stepped back to give the parents some space and got
to watch both parents return with food for the kids. Here are a couple
pictures https://www.flickr.com/photos/85567104@N05/.
We also watched a Sharp-shinned Hawk dive bombing a Red-tailed Hawk at high
altitude above Swine Creek Nature Center. This went on for a few minutes
until the Red-tail decided it had enough and landed in a tree within view of
us.
Raptor mania continues with a Cooper's Hawk being mobbed by Barn Swallows at
Frohring Meadows. At one point the hawk turned abruptly and took off after
some if its pursuers! High drama in the jungle! Glad I only have to go to
the kitchen for my dinner!
