Yesterday my fellow birding friends and I saw the following at Oak Openings:
Red Headed Woodpeckers-3+
Baltimore Orioles- many all over
Scarlet Tanager-male
Summer Tanager-male-2
(Was a Female tanager that flew overhead but not sure which one)
Turkey Vultures-2+ being harrassed by RW Blackbird
Male Hummingbird
Great Crested Flycatcher
Yellow Warbler-2
Gray Catbirds-plentiful
Tufted Titmouse-1
Red Bellied Woodpeckers-calling
American Goldfinch Male-2
House Finch Male
Indigo Buntings-plentiful
Great Blue Heron
Savannah Sparrow (unsure,but probable)- have pic
Tree Swallows
Barn Swallows
Also, opening THIS WEEKEND Wiregrass Lake Campground, Toledo Metropark. Got
a tour, it's wonderful!! I feel great combination of Oak Openings and Magee
all in one. Will connect by walking/hiking trail to Secor Metropark and
Kitty Todd Preserves.
