This morning the blue jays were harassing something in my backyard. I didn't see the neighbor's cat that usually causes a commotion, so I took a closer look. I found a saw whet owl nestled against the trunk of a small evergreen at the back of my yard. A first for my yard and a big thrill! I am in Mentor near the high school.
