Maybe a dozen birders or so searching for the Kelp Gull from dawn until 8:00am. No luck this morning with the Kelp Gull. A Glaucous Gull flew by us and a Lesser Black-backed Gull was with the distant group out in the middle of Springfield Lake. A dozen Bonaparte's Gulls were also present. Roughly 3,000 gulls were on the lake this morning. The ratio of Ring-billed Gulls to Herring Gulls was about 10:1.
