Trips to Woodside Green, Academy, and McCorkle Parks along the Gahanna Big Walnut Greenbelt this morning found lots of expected early temperate migrants and unusual residents, including
Red-shouldered Hawk - calling near Woodside Green
Barred Owl - calling at north end of WoodsideGreen
Sapsucker - along Old Ridenour Rd north of McCorkle
Pileated Woodpecker - in Woodside Green Park riparian area
E.Phoebes - 4 at different locations along creek
Brown Creeper - singing in riparian woods along Old Ridenour Rd
Winter Wren - singing in riparian woods along Old Ridenour Rd
Golden-cr.Kinglets - fair movement, with 8-10 over all sites in 1.5 hrs
Chipping Sparrow - singles at several locations
Fox Sparrow - singing red form in McCorkle Park
Juncos - quite a few, perhaps 20+ over the morning
Blackbirds - plenty of expected Redwings,Grackles,Cowbirds. No Rusties.
