This evening Ben Morrison and myself found 3 Red-Necked Grebes at Berlin
Lake north of the 224 causeway. At that time they were pretty far out but
easily identified with scopes. It was about 6 p.m. The Portage
County/Mahoning County line splits the lake north/south right through the
causeway. When we saw them they were far left and I would say in Portage
County. Who knows where they will be tomorrow.
I don't recall seeing any reports of Red-Necked Grebes this season so I
thought maybe some people would be interested in trying to see them.
See you on the trails,
Shari Jackson
