In just 4 1/2 hours yesterday, we saw 20 species of warblers (including a canada and several northern parulas), 3 species of vireos, a whippoorwill, a nighthawk, a woodcock, a scarlet tanager, and many more. There were a lot of birds. We saw at least two or three birds for most of the warbler species we saw and maybe a dozen or so birds for several species. In one spot not far from the "bird sit," we saw 7 different species of warblers in the time that it took us to eat our sandwiches.
The birds should be in the area at least through Monday.
