I birded the Lake Erie Bluffs in Lake County this morning. There were 17 species of warblers including a singing Connecticut warbler. It was found in the extreme southwest corner of the big loop trail west of Lane Road. The bird was singing very sparingly and was seen only briefly. It was in a dense stand of honeysuckle. Other birds of note this morning were 5 mourning warblers, all of the flycatchers except olive-sided, and 2,800 waxwings What was interesting was the waxwings were flying west and all of the blue jays were heading east.

Comments: There were a lot of birds migrating today. Blue jays were heading east and waxwings west. A late meadowlark was seen flying out over the lake heading west. Warblers other than local breeders were mainly females. Most were high up in the red oak trees that were flowering.
