Bruce,
I asked because someone posted about "getting back to what this list was
for - sightings".
I realize its hard to open things up and yet maintain some relation to
birds. I myself am more concerned with helping wild birds
via helping their environment via habitat and personal life style
choices etc. and understand that could quickly get out of control.
I don't have too many suggestions on how to maintain a broader list
other than moderator attention, which sort of sucks for you:)
As topics come up and then start to stray, the moderator has to intervene.
And you've done a wonderful job! I have no complaints at all.
This recent spate is me just pushing back against the above post to make
sure the list doesn't creep over to only sightings,
which frankly I think its pretty close to. Recommendations for places
to bird is the other tolerated topic that comes to mind.
People would need to realize that a any list that is not only for
listing sightings will have some posts they might not care for
(say controlling a non native bird via culling).
Subject titles would be very important.

Yes, Suzann. Correct.
Fired and Marie, I am puzzled how you can possibly need to ask what t
nohis list is for. You have both been subscribed for 10-15 years or
longer and... More on this later.
