I just spent a few hours birding the Teal Trail and Railway Trail at
Battelle-Darby Metropark. I didn't find any rare sparrows, but did have a
few noteworthy sightings. Highlights include:
- several flyover American Pilots
- 1 singing Marsh Wren
- 1 flushed American Bittern
- multiple Savannah Sparrows (5-8)
- more Swamp Sparrows than you're thinking
- 3 SEDGE WRENS. At least 1 appeared to be a juvenile, and I later got a
decent diagnostic photo of an adult.
Hopefully others out looking this morning have better luck with the
*Ammodramus* than I did.
Good birding,
John Kuenzli
