I first went to Lobdell in hopes of hearing and/or seeing the Connecticut warbler Matt Mason had heard yesterday morning, but no luck. I walked one loop checking for Connecticut or Mournings & whatever else I could find but it was pretty quiet. I did not hear the cerulean that was there yesterday. I have had good luck in the past with Mourning warblers at Lobdell but not this year. I then went to Blendon Woods since Bob McNulty had posted he had seen a Mourning well there yesterday.

I ran into him shortly after I arrived and he had not seen it. we birded together for a while but things were fairly quiet. A Barred Owl flew across the trail and perched not too far from the trail so that was a nice treat for me. We also heard a Summer Tanager call.
