Warm, muggy & annoying mosquitoes this morning, particularly at Morris Woods so I didn’t spend much time there.
They continue to take out “invasives” at Denison—today, I discovered they had cleared an area between spring peeper pond & swallow field which at times during spring & fall migrations, was a real hotspot as in, too many warblers to count! Great spot for Wilson’s Warbler—seen a few there but none this spring. Absolutely heartbreaking to see. It even looked like they may have applied an herbicide as areas looked quite brown.
V little bird activity altho I heard one Blackburnian singing which seems late. I checked a few remaining areas where I’ve seen CT & Mourning Warblers but nothing. No KYs either but at least I heard a Hooded.
