The special issues of HISTOIRE SOCIALE/SOCIAL HISTORY and CONTEMPORARY DRUG PROBLEMS have now been published! They contain selected papers presented at the 1993 International Congress on the Social History of Alcohol. These papers span the period from the 16th century to the present; investigate aboriginal, colonial and industrial societies; and employ various methodologies and approaches, including quantitative, iconographic, archaeological and symbolic analyses.
