A much better than average backyard bird, the first on my property, an adult,
male Connecticut warbler. I just popped out of the house to get some mint for
my evening toddy, and there he was, right in my weedy, wet backyard. Bold,
complete white eye ring, heavy beak, dark hood. Disturbed, he perched low in
the climbing hydrangea, sitting quite still, giving me a fairly long time to observe
him before he flew across to the yard and into the woods. Yard bird #160 something.
