Adding more to the Red-shouldered Hawk...
There is an island in the Mosquito Creek, that always had RSH nesting (houses across the creek - West- and more houses fragmenting the woods on E side) One year a Great-Horned Owl nested in the RSH nest -- for 3 years - after the Owls left a Red-tailed Hawk used the nest which is still being used by them. The RSH has nested further away. Except for the years the GHO was nesting Barred Owls recently - 2 familes have been along the Creek. I know the field guides have RTH & GHO together and RSH & BO together. But ...
