Unfortunately it turned out to be a crappy day with rain or drizzle the whole time I was there, so birding was limited. The water level is finally being let down there, and mudflats are beginning to appear at the north end near Pancoastburg. My latest sighting ever! By 3 weeks. I can't confirm that it was a ruby
throated but, from the quick glance I got, I'd say it was. It was at my
Lady-in-Red salvia. I do have 3 feeders still up and running and will continue to do
so until they freeze solid. I may then work on keeping just one thawed by
means of a lightbulb.
