To add to the crane sightings: This morning, 11-18-08 I saw a flock of
20 Sandhill Cranes at C.J. Brown Reservoir near Springfield.  They were
flying just barely higher than the dam (<100 feet).  They were slowly
circling to gain altitude, and bugling toward the southwest.
Usually when I see them over the lake this time of year, they are up
high and flying fast.  This group looked like it may have spent the
night near the lake since they seemed to be just beginning their travel
day (~8:30 a.m.)
