Friday, April 19:
We visited Metzger Marsh and the surrounding flooded fields Friday
afternoon and in spite of the high winds we were able to enjoy the following
species:
Horned larks
Northern harrier
Killdeers
Great blue herons
Great egrets
Herring gull
Blue- and green-winged teals
Northern shovelers
Gadwalls
Kingfishers
Double-crested cormorants
American wigeons
Spotted sandpiper
Barn, tree, and rough-winged swallows
Ruddy ducks
Mute swans
Coopers hawk
Lesser yellowlegs (Krause Rd.)
Dunlins (Krause Rd.)
Pectoral sandpipers (Krause Rd.)
BSBO Center area:
White-crowned and white-throated sparrows
Dark-eyed juncos
Yellow-shafted flicker
Red-winged blackbirds
Bald eagle (immature)
American coots
Blue-winged teals
Northern shovelers
