Avon Lake Power: The ice edge is pretty far offshore, and so were the birds. The usual 3 gulls and small numbers of common goldeneye, red-breasted and common mergansers, lesser scaup, and surf scoter. Hi Ohio birders,
At 6:50am there was one American Woodcock calling and displaying near the horsemans parking lot on the North side of the lake. It was cold and windy and I really didn't expect to hear one. This is a place where woodcocks return every year.
