A cowbird visited the feeder today at Cleveland Metroparks CanalWay Center.
Last week we had a grackle, fox sparrow and song sparrow. We still get good
numbers of cardinals (10+), tree sparrows (8+), white-throated sparrows
(8+), juncos, goldfinch, chickadees, mourning doves, white-breasted
nuthatch, downy woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker, robins, red-winged
blackbirds.
Red-wings are singing, so are cardinals, white-throated sparrows and juncos.
We had a resident, red-tailed hawk coming to the feeding looking for shrews,
voles and mice. He/she was coming almost every day all winter long, but we
have not seen it now for almost two weeks. Any thoughts on why it has
stopped coming?
