Hello Everyone,
While in Portsmouth for a family event, I snuck away for a few hours worth of birding this morning in Shawnee Forest. Warblers have arrived! Louisiana Waterthrushes and Yellow-Throated Warblers were back in good numbers. I also had about 6 Black-and White Warblers, 2 Northern Parulas, 1 Ovenbird, and a couple of Pine Warblers. Other returning migrants included Gnatcatchers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Blue-headed Vireos, & Brown Thrashers. Several Ruffed Grouse were heard drumming. The best part was it was warm enough to bird in shorts and a T-shirt!
Good birding!
