Hi,
Thursday we visited the black-necked stilts. The nesting pair were off TR
80 S of County line rd. They were together on the nest by the rock on the
hill across the pond. Line up with the telephone pole and it's almost
straight across, slightly rt. Another birder, Bob Sams from Findlay I
think, had seen them mating just previously and pointed them out to me.
There's a nice flock of ruddies in the pond, too.
Another pair were much closer to the road on County Line road, visible
from up on the rise east of TR 80 just between two houses. Doreen from
Columbus directed us there. There is wetland there, full of egrets, and
the stilts were feeding very close to the edge of the water closest to the
road. I have fuzzy pics if interested.
County line road is off 18 just SW of Bellvue after 2 sets of railroad
tracks. Thanks to the birders who helped us locate them!
