This PM Beth Mitchell called to tell me there is a LONG-TAILED DUCK at Cowan Lake. When we went out we found two, one in winter plummage, a male, and the other in changing plummage probably a female. Beth saw the female after calling us. They were seen best from the South Shore Marina in that open ribbon of flowing water. There were also lots of Red-breasted Mergansers, Redheads and other ducks.
