In my haste to get word out for those wanting to come in the morning I reported that the Kelp Gull was seen this evening. This WAS NOT the case. The bird seen was a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
I made the same mistake earlier this evening as I had a LBBG fool me at a Stark County lake. The bird was very dark and had a pretty clean head, but was also not the KEGU.
We're working hard to get a pattern or alternate roost sights uncovered and so mistakes will be made.
If this inconvenienced anyone I offer a sincere apology.
