Today, I saw what I believe was a Yellow Palm Warbler at the
boardwalk at Magee Marsh. Peterjohn in Birds of Ohio (p. 175) calls
it a very rare migrant in Ohio. This Palm Warbler was bright yellow
from the chin to the undertail coverts, including the entire belly
area. The bird was not very cooperative for photo documentation
purposes as it stayed in a tangle up high and in poor light.
Nonetheless I did get a few photos that I believe support the ID as
the eastern race of Palm Warbler, hypochrysea. In the photos I did
not enhance the color.
