On Saturday afternoon around 5:00 I saw an Osprey flying down the
Vermilion River. We are in the northwestern corner of Lorain County,
near Mill Hollow Park, perhaps about 8 miles south of the lake. It was
moving downstream (north), but abruptly turned back south and
disappeared among the trees lining the river. Soon thereafter, I saw my
first Chimney Swift of the year overhead. I saw another chimney swift
about a half hour later flying over Route 2 a few miles west of Vermilion.
