Sunday, March 29 there were nine Great Blue herons and one Black-crowned
Night Heron in the pond near OSU on South Bass Island.
There was also a roost of about 30 Turkey Vultures lifting off from the
woods near the Lighthouse and about 12 on the beach at the State Park.
The Common Redpolls (two) at Elizabeth Heineman's feeder on the West Shore
were last seen on March 19th. Our feeders are now overrun with Red-winged
Blackbirds and Common Grackles.
