Followed Bob Lane's directions to Evans Lake this morning to scope out some
of the rarities reported yesterday. The American white pelicans were
present the entire time, out a ways near the other side of the lake. After
about a half hour of searching 2 Red-necked grebes appeared, and then the
Western grebe made a very brief appearance. It was constantly fishing,
surfacing for only a second or two between dives. Great birds - made up for
my ill-timed attempt to view the E72nd Eared grebe yesterday...
