I just took our dog out for a walk after a long day away from home, and was surprised to see a large form silhouetted in a tree by our pond. I assumed it was an owl, and probably a Great Horned, but I wanted to check and be sure. Through binoculars I could see by the head shape that it wasn't an owl, and was amazed when the flashlight revealed an Osprey. Our pond is only a couple of hundred feet across, but I guess an Osprey found a good place to spend the night. What a nice surprise.

P.S. The Osprey brings our property list up to 124 species in less than a year.
