Hello Everyone,
Today the Columbus Avid Birders ventured down to
Shawnee Forest where we had a spectacular day. We had
22 species of warblers with the highlight being an
amazing male Golden-winged Warbler that two members of
the group got to see. We had great views of all of
the warblers that breed down there as well as
Blackburnian and Nashvilles. We also had both
Orioles, Four Vireos, RB Grosbeaks, and scads of
Scarlet Tanagers. Overall we approached 100 species
for the day. It was a glorious spring day that made
winter seem like a distant memory!
