I took a quick trip to the Scioto River below Griggs Dam today. The water
was very high and moving fast. I didn't see any waterfowl in the area, so I
headed south a couple miles. Saw several Turkey Vultures while traveling. I
stopped again, between 5th Avenue and the 670 entrance, when I saw
Ring-billed Gulls (about 10) flying over the Scioto. I saw the following on
the river at that location:
Mallard: 2 males
Ring-necked Ducks: 5 males, 1 female
Canada Geese: 2
Common Goldeneyes: 2 males, 1 female
Hooded Mergansers: 2 males, 2 females
American Black Duck: 1 female
