I had Blue-gray Gnatcatchers (2 - 3) at North Chagrin Reservation,
Cuyahoga County today. April 3 is an early date for this location - I
think my previous early date for North Chagrin was April 4. Given the
weather, not too surprising that we would be these in a bit early.
The vegetation is popping out up here in NE Ohio and it looks more like
mid-April than April 3. Many wildflowers are blooming several days
ahead of the "norm". I have recorded personal "record" early dates for
several blooming wildflowers and many others are in bud, ready to pop
(like Marsh Marigold and early Meadow-Rue)- but their progress will no
doubt be slowed this week.
