Many years ago, while in the Navy, I was stationed on the Alaskan
island of Adak, in the Aleutians. The island had a large populations
of Bald Eagles. The best place to see large numbers of the birds was at
the island dump. It was not unusual to see 20 or more eagles feeding
there.
It was kind of disturbing to me to see these majestic birds rooting
through the garbage with the gulls.
