Birded Wilderness Rd and other areas at Funk Bottoms WA with Su Snyder this
morning from 8:30-11:30am. There were several areas of fairly good
shorebird habitat. We saw seven species of shorebirds including good
numbers of killdeer and least sandpiper. Also saw about four each of
greater and lesser yellowlegs, two short-billed dowitcher, 5 or 6 spotted
sandpiper, and one solitary sandpiper. Other noteworthy birds were three
immature eagles, five sandhill cranes, over five swamp sparrows singing,
one female orchard oriole feeding in willows, and several bank swallows on
wires.

It was a pretty morning to be out. Randy Rowe, Wooster
