This afternoon I did a quick check for the Little Blue Heron at the
boardwalk in Area M of the Hoover Nature Preserve. It is still contently feeding
right in front of the boardwalk. For a great comparison a great egret was feet
away from the little blue which provided a great comparison of the two species.
Additionally, there were loads of peeps, yellowlegs and a few dowitchers
present. And for those with a bigger appetite there was the three osprey. The
shorebird variety is much the same as reported the last several days although
one never knows when they will be the lucky birder to find the desirable
newcomer to the mudflats.
