I spent an hour yesterday raoming around the SCioto MetroPark in downtown Columbus. A slow start gradually warmed into a decent morning, with several temperate migrants. Highlights included:
Cormorants - 20+
Great Blue Herons - 3
Black Ducks - 2
Peregrine - 1 (a gray adult that buzzed the mudflat on the river)
Cooper's Hawk - 1 adult
Bald Eagle - 1 juvenile south of Scioto, at Haul Road Quarries
Ring-billed Gulls - 150+ on the mudflats
Brown Creepers - 4+ in the riparian woods along the bikepath
Robins - 35-40 along the bikepath
Kinglets - both single Ruby-crowned & Golden-crowned along the bikepath
White-throated Sparrows - 25+ along the bikepath
Fox Sparrows - 3 along the bikepath
Purple Finch - 1 flyover, headed south over the Grange Audubon Center
