Went to Cedar Bog for some early birding, with some results:
Nrthrn.Cardinal - ( 22 ) 1 big flock in the tall grasses at the start of
the trail
WhiteCrownedSparrow - ( 2 ) with the cardinals at the beginning of the trail
WhiteBreastedNuthatch - ( 4 ) singles calling and climbing up and down
trees
AmericanCrow - ( 1 ) only 1 seen but more were heard around the bog
GoldFinch - ( 2 ) only two around the huge meadow in the bog
FoxSparrow - ( 3 ) 2 were by the cardinals & white crowned sparrows at
the beginning of the trail; other was in the meadow in front of the bog.
Hairy W.P - ( 2 ) both were by the creek at the north part of the bog
Red Bellied W.P - ( 3 ) were all at the left side of the bog
NrthrnFlicker - ( 4 ) one was red winged ; all on left side of bog
BlueJay - ( 4 ) 2 were preening each other around the meadow, one was in
some small bushes around the top right part of the trail, the other was
being noisy around the beginning of the trail.
BarredOwl - ( 1 ) was seen twice around the pine forest, was mobbed by blue
jays
RedTailedHawk - ( 2 ) pair were flying over the bog
ShortEarredOwl - ( ? ) was heard with the barking calls but wasn't seen
Alot more but too more but too much to list! The Barred owl was a neet site
to see.
