I was at BSA Camp Seven Ranges and was treated to a really special
evening Chat! At about 10:30 PM Friday night, a couple of birds started
vocalizing around our campsite. At 11:30 when I turned in, they were
still at it.
It continued on onto the wee hours of Saturday, and in fact, was still going
on at 05:30 AM Saturday, just above our tents. As the morning sun hit
the tree tops,
a Yellow-breasted Chat was still carrying on the same songs which
serenaded (annoyed)
us all evening. A walk around camp brought out at least 3 others, all
within about
a couple of acres of each other. Two of them were most accommodating,
and I was able to get
great looks. The rest of the day had some good birds as well, with the
Carolina Chickadee being
a nice Ohio first.
