Open water in between ice floes from Edgewater west to Huntington is briefly offering fantastic birding, with large numbers of goldeneye and Common Mergansers offshore Perkin's Beach (Edgewater upper), Rocky River Park, Bradstreet Landing in Rocky River, and Huntington Reservation in Bay Village. Large gull numbers have spiked with a big appearance of Herring and Great Black-backed Gulls. The opportunity here for rare gulls is currently excellent. Conditions can change quickly but these opportunities should hold till the weekend
