There was a mixed flock of over 300 Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks
in the corn field just east of Spring Valley Wildlife Area. I watched this
flock from Pence Jones Rd south of the field, and whenever the birds
landed and I got my scope on them, the vast majority were longspurs.

Shane Egleston also saw several flocks of birds in various fields in the
Germantown (west of Dayton) area, at least 2 of which contained
longspurs.
