When I arrived home from work yesterday, (April 16) I was greeted by a
PRAIRIE WARBLER singing loud and proud in the old field next to my house. He
kept it up for over an hour. Sure was a sweet sound after the recent cold
weather! Also had a pair of gnatcatchers chasing around and making a lot of
fuss. They kept returning to the same group of trees, but I couldn't tell if
they were building a nest. Still waiting for the first Wood Thrush song to
come from the woods. Won't be long.......
Good birding,
Tracy Morman
