Around 6:15 pm this evening, Emil Bacik and I went out in my yard to
listen for owls. Emil started with his Screech Owl call followed by his
Barred owl call. Soon a Great Horned owl called back, then 2 Long-eared
owls called from a pine grove in the field across the street from my
house. Next we had 2 Screech owls call from the opposite end of the
field. We never did get the Barred owl to call but I have heard them in
the past.
