A beautiful drake Eurasian widgeon was at Ottawa NWR this afternoon. the bird was hanging with a flock of American widgeon and green-winged teal in the second impoundment north of the parking lot, just north of the observations deck.
There are still lots of shorebirds at the mouth with 3 Hudsonian godwits, 1 marbled Godot, and 15 long-billed dowitchers. I also had a Merlin fly by.
