On Sunday, my husband and I birded a new site for us. Gahanna Woods, a State Preserve in the eastern suburb of Gahanna in Columbus (airport area off of Taylor Woods Road).
This is a swampy area with wood but the paths do have gravel and some boardwalks.
Birds of interest:
Blue Gray Gnatcatchers (first of the season)
Winter Wren
Towhee (male singing on territory).
Lots of Spring Beauties, Dutchman's Breeches, May Apples and many singing frogs!
