While walking off trail yesterday mid-day just north of the gravel road entrance to CRP off Erie Rd. I scared up a least bittern out of cover of heavy reeds at one end of a small pond. A GBH had flown off just prior to this from the same pond, which was quite secluded. Beautiful weather but fairly quiet at the time I was there, some downy wps, yellow warblers, nothing else out of the ordinary though there were several deer, probably at least 10 in three groupings, one of which looked like a buck with a piece of arrow stuck in his right rear thigh...noticed this later looking at the photos, seemed to have healed over but the leg looked gimpy.
